Lightsaber - FAQs
What do Jedis look for in a lightsaber?
The Jedi believe that a good lightsaber is one that is well-balanced and easy to handle. The blade should also be the right size for the user - too long and it will be difficult to control, too short and it may not be effective in combat.
The guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy also believe that a good lightsaber should have a simple design. This is because a complex lightsaber design can be difficult to maintain and repair, which could be a problem in the heat of a good versus evil battle.
That’s less of an issue when you’re carrying a lightsaber from Tactical Edge Australia - we make sure every toy lightsaber is built tough so you can duel with your buddy no matter how strong they are with the Force.
What does a Sith look for in a lightsaber?
The Sith are the sworn enemies of the Jedi, so it stands to reason that they would look for different qualities in a lightsaber.
The masters of the dark side believe that a good lightsaber is one that is powerful and deadly. They place less emphasis on balance and control, and more on raw power. Some factors that the Sith might consider when choosing a lightsaber include the weight of the saber (heavier sabers are more difficult to wield but deal more damage), the size of the blade (larger blades can be more intimidating), and the sound effects (louder, more menacing sound effects can be more intimidating).
The Sith also prefer red lightsabers, as this colour is associated with anger and aggression.
Ultimately, the Sith are looking for a lightsaber that strikes fear into their opponents and gives them an advantage in combat. At Tactical Edge we have the most exciting range of lightsabers in Australia or even the galaxy. Check our stock availability online now!
Which lightsaber is right for me?
The answer to this question really depends on what you are looking for in a lightsaber. Some factors you may want to consider include the size of the blade, the weight of the saber, how realistic the sound effects are, and whether or not it lights up.
If you are looking for a lightsaber toy that is as close to the real thing as possible, then you may want to consider buying from us at Tactical Edge Australia. We offer a wide variety of high-quality sabers that are perfect for cosplay, duelling with mates, chopping up space creatures (sold separately) or just playing around in the backyard.
Whichever lightsaber you choose, make sure that you take the time to learn how to use it properly. A lightsaber is a powerful weapon, but it can be just as dangerous to you as it is to your opponents. Train with a qualified lightsaber instructor and always practice safe lightsaber handling.
Can you buy an actual lightsaber?
It’s not possible to buy an actual lightsaber - not yet anyway! Scientists are working on it, but for now lightsabers only exist in the Star Wars universe (and the Lucasfilm LTD prop department).
The closest you can currently get is a high-quality replica like those from Tactical Edge Australia. We have a wide range of sabers that look and feel just like the real thing, so you can satisfy your Jedi (or Sith) cravings until actual lightsabers are invented!
Will lightsabers ever be real?
So far, research has shown that it is possible to create a beam of light that is strong enough to cut through metal. However, this beam does not yet have the ability to deflect other objects, which is a key component of a lightsaber.
It is also important to note that lightsabers in the Star Wars universe are powered by a rare and powerful substance called kyber crystals. By every account, these crystals are not found outside of the Star Wars galaxy, so it is currently not possible to create a real lightsaber in our universe.
However, who knows what the future may hold? With the rapid pace of technology, it is possible that lightsabers and related terms could one day be a reality. Until then, we will have to settle for replicas like those from Tactical Edge Australia!
What do the different lightsaber colors mean?
Some people like to assign their own significance to their lightsaber colours. For example, blue could represent wisdom and peace, while red might symbolise anger and aggression.
In the Star Wars universe, the Jedi traditionally use blue lightsabers, while the Sith use red. However, there are exceptions to this rule - for example, Mace Windu's lightsaber is purple, which could be interpreted as a symbol of great power and mastery of the Force.
The most common colours are blue and green, which represent balance and harmony. There are many other colours that can be seen in the Star Wars universe however, such as green, orange, and even white.
The colour of your lightsaber is completely up to you! There is no right or wrong answer, so choose the one that you feel best represents you and your Jedi journey. And because the colours of our lightsabers are easy to change, you can mix it up whenever you want! Our blades come in Blue, Light Blue, Red, Green, Orange, Pink/Purple and Cold White.
Whatever the colour of your lightsaber, make sure you use it for good!
